INTRODUCTION:
Established on 3rd February 1977 in Mumbai, India, the IFCCI has been in existence for over quarter of a century. It is a bilateral business organisation and whose 500 odd members are French andIndian companies from various sectors of activity.
The main objective of the IFCCI is to assist companies in doing business between France and India. The mandate of the IFCCI is to act as a one-stop-shop on information on India, support the development of business through ongoing data and information dissemination, assistance to trade and investment missions, assistance to individual firms to augment business relations and to promote special events organised by the IFCCI, including trade fairs, business summits, conferences and seminars. The role of the IFCCI entails a policy to convert each of its contacts into profitable business opportunities for the benefit of the Indo-French community and especially its members.
The IFCCI lobbies for increased French presence in India and Indian presence in France. IFCCI works closely with like minded industry organisations, business establishments, statutory boards and government organisations. Since its inception, the office has chalked up many individual business contacts and rendered a wide variety of support whenever approached.

The IFCCI creates awareness of business opportunities between France and India and encourages the exchange of business delegations and the exchange of meaningful and relevant information to facilitate effective business relations.
The IFCCI manages "India Specific" databases, which encompass contacts from various industry sectors in India, who are interested in doing business with France. These databases are constantly updated.
Effective January 2006, the IFCCI has been designated to run the Image of France Campaign to promote French industry and more specifically, French technology in India.

Mr Daniel PHILIBERT, Managing Director, Saint Gobain Sekurit India Pvt Ltd is the President.The Vice-Presidents are Mr Trilochan Singh SAHNEY, Chairman & Managing Director, NRB Bearings Ltd, and Mr Xavier Bertrand, Managing Director, Chanel India Pvt Ltd. Mr Zubin KABRAJI is Secretary General.
